Many times I have no idea what I’m going to create. What started as a bright, fun piece ended up being a bit too blended and bordered on turning to brown. It seemed to match my mood and yet, I didn’t want to scrap the piece and start over. Instead I decided to let it harden a bit before I used a pallet knife to cathartically cut and slice the paint. Although it’s very different than most of my creations, the abrupt sharp lines cut deep and touch that uglier part of myself, allowing me to find a bit of beauty in that rawness.
