The initial painting, Cookie Cutter 4th, was a cool idea but the paint wasn’t deep enough or dry enough to effectively hold the star image the way I imagined. The canvas was light so I decided to build upon, using the same colors, but with much heavier application and then beating with drumsticks. The cracks from flat paints, the dents from the drumsticks, and the blending of colors came out better than I thought. Once again, following my gut by making something great of something so so.
