I began by swirling the different colors of wet paint together across the canvas. I then used a cardboard roller to pull and roll through the paint, dragging the colors across the surface and creating long streaks through the swirled areas.
When I stepped back and looked at the finished painting, I saw what looked like a flamingo dancing. That unexpected image gave the painting its name.
