Forks and Ripples

Forks and Ripples grew out of experimenting with one of my favorite unconventional painting tools—a fork. I pulled forks through layers of wet paint, creating long, narrow channels of color across the canvas. Rather than wiping off the paint that collected on the forks, I shook it back onto the surface, creating the spontaneous splatters and thicker bursts that interrupt the lines.

The repeated dragging created rhythm and movement, while the splattered paint introduced something I couldn’t completely control. What began with a simple household object became a surface filled with color, texture, and unexpected movement.
