Someone I encountered was having a particularly rough day, and I couldn’t stop thinking about her afterward.
I carried that feeling with me when I made this painting, working with reds, oranges, pinks and purples and allowing the paint to move down the canvas in long, heavy drips.
It wasn’t meant to solve anything or make the difficult moment disappear. It came from thinking about another person and knowing that, somehow, we keep moving forward.
When it was finished, I gave the painting to her.
Life Goes On.
