One Last Goodbye

In the last few months of my dog’s life, it was challenging to devote more than 30 to 60 minutes to a creation. Mabruki would let me know he didn’t want me in the studio and, as our time was limited, I found smaller projects to work on. This small piece took days and was almost complete when he passed. This piece was finished shortly afterwards. There was an intention to keep the creation bright, to find the joy and gratitude in being his person knowing I would be devastated. Mabruki means “a gift or blessing” in Swahili, and he absolutely lived up to his name.
