I spooned paint directly onto the canvas, then used the back of the spoon to blend and move it across the surface. I layered different purples with touches of white, black, pink and blue, allowing the colors to mix while still leaving variations visible throughout.
I wasn’t working toward a particular image. I wanted to see how much variation, movement and texture I could create within a predominantly purple field.
