Lots of older paints mounded by hand were gently blown apart on a low setting until I reached lower depths and created a more of a topographic feel. The title suits the creation in how heat and friction can help uncover and peel back layers, birthing something disturbingly appealing. The creation felt incomplete – too savage – until I covered the semi-gloss with silver paint. The reflective silver offers new insights and perceptions of the exposed layers. There is tremendous beauty in looking deeply, once you get past the initial shock of what you see and feel.
