I created Soothing specifically for my bathroom, wanting something quiet and calming for the space.
I used a silicone basting brush to pull small amounts of color through a pale base, allowing traces of pink, purple and blue to move across the surface without completely blending together.
I wanted to introduce color while keeping the painting cool and peaceful. The basting brush left long, subtle marks, letting the colors appear and disappear rather than take over the canvas.
Soothing still hangs in my bathroom today.
