Wimbo’s Last Flower

CreatedJanuary 2024

There was one chrysanthemum that broke off from the bouquet I received after her passing. I kept it in a small vase and it slowly dried out. I kept it in my studio to keep her with my and watched as it dried, gaining inspiration. The center of the flower is a dog ball I cut in half and covered with an old towel dipped in paint. The flower petals are made of cut canvas, dripped and dried before assembling in layers. The flower was buried but the painting remains overhead in my studio.
